This session in Kansas City ended up being one of my favorites of the year. We started at The Market at Meadowbrook, which instantly set the tone for the whole evening. The buildings are clean and bright, the sidewalks have plenty of space to move around, and the light always seems to hit just right. It gave us a chance to ease into things — walking, talking, riding bikes, and letting the session feel more like hanging out than posing. That’s always when the best photos happen.
After we finished up at Meadowbrook, we headed over to a quiet brick road for the motorcycle photos. It’s one of those spots you wouldn’t think much about until you’re actually there. The trees were full of color, leaves covered the ground, and everything had that warm, fall look you can’t recreate. They were completely comfortable by then, which made the motorcycle shots feel really natural. No overthinking, no stiff moments — just genuine connection and movement.
A fun surprise from this shoot was having one of the images featured on the Unscripted Posing App for photographers. It’s always encouraging to see work shared in places other photographers look for inspiration, and this session definitely deserved it.
Overall, this KC engagement session was simple, relaxed, and full of easy moments — the kind you look back on and instantly remember how good the evening felt.
Here’s a closer look into a night that came together perfectly without trying too hard.
